Highlights of CMS Study 2007: http://www.cmsindia.org/cms/highlights.pdf 1) This study is on Corruption with a special focus on BPL households. 2) It concludes that in Andhra the level of corruption is moderate. However, there are 6 more big states that figure in the same category. Interestigly, Kerala figures in the category of "HIGH" corrupt states. When we look at the 2004 survey results, Kerala had the least petty corruption faced by common man. In the same survey, Andhra's rank was 4. http://www.cmsindia.org/cms/events/corruption.pdf Some Inferences: As far as Andhra is concerned, during YSR regime the focus is on welfare schemes at the rural areas and large scale corruption in SEZs and projects. Since the 2007 survey focus was on corruption on BPL households, the results are not a huge surprise. Above all, there are 6 more staes that share the same category (moderate corruption). We do not have precise ranking of states in 2007 like that of 2004 survey, however these results are not comparable. | ||

nothing..all I am doing is contesting the defaming of YSR govt on corruption charges. i am not saying that it decreased, all i am saying is it did not increase as the media was trying to project and this study ratifies that.....tamaru kuda 2005 study chusi..ippudu survey chesthe rankings darunanga vuntayi annaru..but you were wrong....so I have been consistant all along saying that corruption was there before YSR and and it is the same today....you were one of those saying otherwise..so nuvve seppali... | ||

If they under take a similar survey, many of us would not be surprised if Andhra ranks above 10 in terms of less corrupt states in India are concerned. If some one takes a survey of project and SEZ corruption (large scale corruption) Andhra would top the list as far as highest corrupt states in India in descending order is concerned. | ||

Some of the important points that are to be borne in mind are: 1)The focus of survey was on PETTY CORRUPTION experienced by common man (page 9). 2) The field work was under taken during December 2004 and January 2005 (page 11). Given the above, how can one conclude that during YSR regime Andhra was less corrupt vis-a-vis other states for being ranked as number 4 in terms of less corrupt states in India? | ||
