These things can be curbed easily: - Recruitment into the lower ranks of the Police forces should happen - Proper training should be given to the Police to handle these incidents - PLUS proper infrastructure in terms of IT, Communications etc etc.... Despite this - there will still be incidents like this. Deterrence will never bring prevent a crime. Apart from the taking the actions listed above - we also need to retrospect as a society - why are these incidents happening at an alarming rate? What is the root cause? Instead of arousing emotions - can our god men not try to calm the society and infuse a sense of withdrawal (positive vairagyam) into the people ? | ||

Problem here is inherently peoples idea that others need to have their freedom curbed somewhere. Why shouldn't a woman feel as free in India as a male? Even in any city in the world, there is a reason for MEN and women to be cautious.
