Kamal needs to curb films budget keeping in mind that he is not even making a national level product. New revenue areas are opening for Hollywood. Regional films are still stuck to local audience. Can't help that. It's best that local film makers don't get carried away by expenses they see by their Hollywood counterparts. Tamil film for 80 crores is silly. You have to have a blockbuster film on hand to even break even from all routes of possible revenue. | ||

Also, not much amount for satellite rights as it has u/a certificate meaning it can b broad casted only after 10. | ||

It is known news that Kamal Haasan is all set to arrive with his ambitious project 'Viswaroopam' and this is now being touted as one of the most expensive films ever made in India. Apparently, the budget of the film has touched nearly Rs 100 crores and here is an update. Recently Kamal was sharing his thoughts when he reportedly mentioned that he has to earn at least Rs 150 crores to make this a viable project. He has reportedly added that the reason for putting a premium price of Rs 1000 for single time viewing on the DTH viewing is to earn that magic number he has set. The DTH release is happening one day prior to the theatrical release scheduled for January 11th. Kamal is doing the lead role and he is flanked by Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah along with Rahul Bose, Jaideep Ahlawat and others. This is a big release to happen in Hindi and English as well. |
