Stick for some more time, you cant give up that easily. Opportunities don't fall in our lap too often. If you were chosen among the three, obviously they see something in you. Call for a meeting with all the stakeholders, come up with a plan, agree on R&R. Track the plan and dont bother then until they are due. And as far as mgmt support, you have to earn it. And remember one thing, people stressing you out can only affect you if you let them. |

Anyways, thanks all for your inputs..And for those who critiqued me, I will take them positively and work towards overcoming my weaknesses... If I don't get released from this project, I will do what most of you guys suggested...that I continue to sit tight, be more friendly with the team, copy sr managers in every mail and highlight the risks to the client when ever necessary....One day, hope I shall see the light.. Asala Client oka mail petti explaining my roles and resp and all should report status to me ani petti untey intha undedhi kaadu..At least, I could have escalated to her when I am not receiving support... but she is reluctant to keep it only because we have multiple vendors in the project... nenu lead ki paniki ranu ani septhey, I already implemented successful releases in past 6 months and that is the reason I was given this role... 1st of all I am not a manager not did I have any prior experience..I have only around 6 years of IT exp... I agree that am not able to handle the situation very well kaani oka vaipu naa team and inko vaipu client kuda nannu support cheyakapothey em seyali...Who should I reach out to in these kind of situations ? if the project becomes a fiasco, andaru nanney point out chestaru...I have sustained this situation for 2 weeks but status adigithey chal dobbeyi anattu respond avutaru and repeatedly adigithey mokhana parestunnaru... Work atmosphere bagunteney kada manaki work seyabuddhi avutadi... Moreover, aa desis naa frnds kaadu..okadu colleague and inkokadu aparichutudu... I learnt yesterday that they are escalating against me that I am pestering them with status updates and hampering their productivity.. Client ki position explain sesina support cheyatledu...I did everything I should do as a lead...Was very polite when they shrugged me off...took up their resp when they are overloaded.. basic ga same/more exp undatam valana they do not want me to lead them... Slowly start removing direct information access to them from senior manager. Once it starts flowing through you, they will realise that they will have to fall in line. All was going well with me until couple of weeks back when my project lead resigned and they offered me his role. He was leading the effort for 3 projects and I should be doing that now. About me : I worked in a MNC for 5 years and 6 months back shifted to a new employer in bay Area where I do consulting for a leading client. My former lead reporting structure has a resource who is of the same experience as mine and we were also colleagues from day 1 in my previous organization. Another resource is from a different vendor and has more experience than me and also been working for this client for ages. Both are Desis So, when I took over this position, the most prevalent emotional factor "EGO" is inundated in these two guys. It is starkly visible in their attitude and I need to literally plead them to get the things done. They behave very well in front of the client and agreed they would support me but in the background, it is a different story altogether. Infact, client is playing safe and not completely supporting me as she needs to deal with two vendors. I am undergoing severe stress and pressure in this project. On top of it, I have two other projects as well that requires my attention. Maa employer ki seppanu ittaga undi situation and in order to avoid an escalation, I need to be released from this project ani...They asked me to observe the situation for another week and let me know...
