GC is stadalone document. GC vachinappudu the stamp they put in passport is for temporary usage until u receive the GC. OCI satmp is for teravel purpose and the document/book as such is for usage in India while buying lands ec No Signature | ||

OCI card ichina tarvatha inka old passport lo stamp enduku mesharu.. nenu GC time lo old indian passport (though i had it with me) eppudu choopinchale.. i showed my new indian passport and US GC.. it should be the same concept | ||

yes I did apply for the visa.. OCI ki PIO ki difference is about whether you are a natural born US citizen with parents of indian origin | ||

Pretty common thing. wheneever VISA is on old passport u have to take both old and new passport. this is for any country's passport No Signature | ||

Yes, this is a known issue. We have to keep the expired US passport when travelling to India. OCI book is not valid without this stamp A diamond with a flaw is better than a common stone that is perfect. | ||

another experience from a friend in US: Important please read if you are US cit They are US citizens and they have OCI/PIO. Apparently when you first get this OCI/PIO they put a stamp in your US passport.. later you will get your OCI/PIO card. This family got their OCI/PIO cards So, the US passport of one these family members expired and they got a new US passport (obviously there will be no OCI/PIO stamp but they have the OCI/PIO card).. These family flew to JFK to go to India.. (i believe) they did not let the renewed US passport holder go because there is no stamp on the passport (these people left the old ppt at home).. they had to call a family member in their city to go to their home get the old passport (which has the stamp) and come to JFK.. ultimately they missed the flight and had to go next day | ||
