Issue is not with the phone. If you are on home wifi or 3G/4G, you are fine. If you have connected to public wifi (xfinity/att access points in public places/parks/starbucks) or at some friends home, don't access any secure information. It is very easy to install a traffic sniffer and pull up any interesting data. | ||

I know, have been reading up on it, found this suggestion. Registered email okati pettukondi, that you use on online accounts and share with others. All emails should be forwarded from there to another personal account that you dont ever share. Delete all the emails from the registered account and manage the emails on the other account that no one even knows it exists. | ||

mine got hacked couple of yrs back.. my ex boss called me to say that he recvd a strange mail from my account.. had to change password and send mail to most of my important contacts that they might have received some spam mail using my name, apologized and asked them to disregard that spam.. harrowing experience.. bunch of my contacts responded saying WTH or WTF | ||

I have some 7000+ emails in inbox and many of them has personal info in inbox and also sent items. its highly impossible to identify them individually and delete. I am planning to upgrade to paid service to yahoo mail, connect through ms-outlook (not available with free yahoo)..then copy all mails into local PST file and delete on server. | ||

Yahoo email account (not mine) got hacked, gmailaccount with the same userid was also attempted but gmail averted. Someone from Nigeria sent a message asking for money to all the yahoo contacts. No one fell for it, not an issue. That email account has been in use for more than a decade, doesnt remember if anything important is in there. Hacker has emptied all the folders, probably copied. The fear is that something somewhere in a folder might be there, like personal info, licence # from auto claims or worst case SSN from a old tax/CPA communication. Looking for Precautions/Suggestions.... |
