caste in todays form is a "sham" .. it serves no purpose .. no identity .. and no utility .. while Varna vyavastha was liberal, ideal division of labor and owes existence in a different kind of society. caste is integral part of hindutva once caste is broken so does hindutva. also barriers will alwyas be there. when caste was not prominent, there were wars between shivtes and vishnuvites. At first, I thought - what the hell, why should I force anyone to shun a quiet and harmless practice of caste, which may not disrespect anyone anyway.
