its an analysis based on standard deviations, so they are comparing the top player of each sport with his peers, and then comparing the standard deviations between each sport. which means each of the players i have listed earlier perform with the given points better than his peers and then that is how they compare with each other. now like you said, it is flawed in the sense that it does not take into count wickets, fielding or any other criteria, if a basket player, can take 100 % of his shots and score on them, as per rules it is allowed ,it is only the players capability to not do it. who knows may be in the future we would see such a maniac. just like a player who can score a century everytime he walks in. the world of appearances may or may not be real, or both may and may not be real - or may be indescribable; or may be real and indescribable, or unreal and indescribable; or in the end may be read and unreal and indescribable - its all Syadvada | ||

which is a flawed analysis In cricket if you look at any time at any point in time top 3 batsmans avg combined batting avg will be greater than next 3 batsman more balls more scoring opportunities in basketball a player can only take 40 percent of the shots maxxxx cricket lo notout vunte 50+ percent of the balls adochu cricket is more like individual performances put together where as basketball is a team game | ||

For me, a great batsmen should dominate bowlers, be reliable and help his team reach great heights. In case of kallis, he neither dominated any bowler or batsmen. He is a reliable batsmen only when there isn't much pressure esp. in limited overs format. As far as achievement is concerned, he recently helped his team reach # 1 test ranking and haven't taken his team to a WC final. For the kind of talent SA team has...taking this long to reach #1 test spot and not winning a home test series for 2 years is a big big shame.
