Migilina medhavi vargam cheppinatlu, no time limit to get the H1 (or its dependent H4) stamping while the original H1(extended ) is valid. On the other hand, I would suggest your wife to get the F visa stamped (instead of H4) since she may get a chance to work on OPT(if she moves to H4, she cant). My wife was on H4 until Aug 2009 and then COS to F1 and I20 is good until Dec 2012 . She is done with her MS course work and thesis pending. Thesis work got delayed since we were blessed with a baby girl in August.. Since then we have not travelled out of the country.. We are planning to visit India in next 6 months.. I am on my H1 since 2008 and extended my H1 in sept 2011 but H1 was not stamped .. If we travel to India in next 6 months , Is it safe to get the F1 stamped and Is there a time frame for H1 stamping TO BE done once it is extended. |
