Yep, there will def me both healthcare and immigrations reforms. Immig legislation has to be comprehensive, so they have to look at legal immig too. Ob has nothing to lose, so he will take risks and Reps cant afford to drive everyone away, they have to support both reforms. | ||

They are seeing the "minority" voting share increase in each election. Under Reagan and both Bushes, the Republican party was pretty inclusive. It is only lately that they have started to become a whites only country club. Obama could have won without Ohio, so forget about the auto bailout. Also, if his lead holds up in Florida, he could have lost Michigan as well and still won the presidency. There are studies that show that when people align with a political party for three election cycles, they are pretty much locked in to that party for the rest of their lives unless something really unusual comes along. Latinos have voted for Democrats in staggeringly large numbers in the last three election cycles. Their turnout wasn't that significant in 2010, but I think that will change immediately. The Republicans can't afford to take this kind of hit in 2014. If they do, then they really are finished and might as well not run anyone in 2016. As for Jeb Bush, I really like the guy and could vote for him easily. The problem is that he is far too reasonable for the people who now run the party. I don't think that he can get the nomination in 2016, at least as things now stand, because he isn't willing to pander to the crazies in charge. } | ||
