ok annai... the best thing you need to do.... is to "avoid going to any restaurants that DEMAND 30% tip". actually it will be win-win situation for the restaurants and you. personally i suggest you to keep away from restaurants that EXPECT 30% tip also. because if you dont give 30% for good service, you will never know what they do with your food in the kitchen. but the food may taste really yummy. end of the day you and me should let market resolve itself. one wise man told me once "high prices is the cure for high prices" | ||

annai when i go to a restaurant.... i think service will be good and my total cost will be total food cost ( not taxes) + taxes + tip ( 20% of total food cost) if i cannot afford this total cost, i wont go to a restaurant to eat food period. i do not shave a few dollars from the tip. if the service is bad, i would not just cut the tip. I will inform the waiter/waitress about the service and cut the tip. that way the waiter/waitress would know why the tip is low. i will do that respectfully. end of the day "to err is human" | ||
