true, percentage takkuvey untadi anukuntunna...I guess parents need to a better job of identifying the kids who are not enjoying the art. Kaani interested kids maatram, they take it up passionately. Nenu US ki vachinappudu family friends lo oka kid kuchipudi nerchukunedi...nenu ilagey anukuney vaadini, enduku pillalaki torture ani...after 15 years, she is working now, and she still gives public performances. She performed couple of weeks ago in Kenndey Center in DC as part of some international festival. She runs a dance school also for teaching kuchipudi to kids. So, oka Art next generation ki carry avutondi ilanti vaari valla, I have no complaints. :-) | ||

Inko angle eti antey, most of the parents were interested in these arts when they were young, but never had resources (be it money/teachers/etc) or opportunity to learn them. Now they have this opportunity to live their dream through their kids. If kid is interested as well, then all is well, otherwise, kid ki torture annattu. :-) | ||

My cousin's daughter recently did aramgetram in Philly. Mana DB member Kalikalam attended, I couldn't. Monna DVD chusa, chusi chusi alasipoya. man, entha long undho performace. entha energy, commitment etc etc kavali. All of this along with regular studies. Mallee parents iddaru doctors. Yesterday I was watching the classical dance performances by the kids and teens in an MD temple yesterday. It was really nice to watch. Konthamandi kids ayithe professionals laa chesaaru. aa expressions with eyes with the dance combo made it really worth watching. Especially they were really enjoying what they were doing and that made it even more intersting to watch. I can see how much practice, discipline and commitment it needs to learn and perform these classical dances. At the same time time, some teens(very few and I think their parents are from gujarat etc) performed bollywood dances with sooooo much energy and grace. awesome. Kudos to NRI parents anipinchindi kids ni inthalaa Indian tradition ki expose chestunnaarante. Do we still have the same standards in desam also? |
