thanks for the link bedar..this is exactly what people like Ron Paul have been saying. Very good...thoght provoking..makes you feel guilty and stupid actually. Someone was comenting that "dogs" like him bark and go....if you actully listen to his speech..he never said he is correct. He just made is case. Infact he even said that you don't have to believe him..but just think and lets debate..thats all he said and I think that makes a lot of sense. Tax rebate checks rtheesukoni happies ayipothunnam..not questioning how it came why it came and where it came from...that is how this gov't is trying to fool its people and we call others names...LOL | ||

It is a universal truth that US went after Saddam partly because of Oil but more so because of Saddam wanted to trade in Euros...The Opec was threatening to go the Euro way for a while..but Saddam started it slowly...by demolishing him..the US wanted to show cause everyone what would happen if they plan to go EURO... The only free money that US gets from the world (that too in billions) is the floating US Dollars when a country buys and the other country sells Oil in US dollars...if they stop doing this ..then there is no need for the whole world to trade in US Dollars... Also the OPEC nations want to keep the USD strong because they have vested interest too..the day..the find a better alternative to trade Oil...and if they switch currencies..then we will see a new world order | ||

You are talking from an investor point of view...the economist(I am assuming without reading the text of his speech) wrote the article from the US Govt point of view...that it owes a lot of money to Japan,China etc Everyone knows that US owes a lot to the world...if not for the Oil supporting the US Dollar, it would have run into huge debt long ago... | ||

Buying treasury bills is not lending....Its a investment done by foreign countries...but for USA its borrowing debt and clearing it using buyback scheme.. so, for other countries it will be investment...but for USA its borrowing debt and clearing it off with in a short span of time... | ||

To my knowledge , some countries are investing as well as lending money to US. This is what I heard from few places and also an american in my team also said that US is in dept to china. | ||

This guy says China,India,Japan,Korea lending money to USA...hence USA is a poor country and rest of the countries have gone rich by donating to USA... this is the funniest statement I've ever heard from a so called economist.... The fact is they are not lending, they are investing in developing business which helps to prosper the US economy..that doesnt imply that they are lending money to USA....Investing is different than lending... Lending is used when some country is in a deep financial crisis and country is totally fcuked up | ||
