Karnataka in many ways is better state than Andhra Pradesh. Look at their development indicators and it speaks volumes. Before each missile is tested, before each satellite is launched a Pooja is performed here. Why didnt the elites here question the Government then? It has been tradition and our rulers of our country performed special poojas for rains. One is questioning something that our forefathers practiced since ages. I admit that there is no empirical evidence to prove that there is correlation between performing poojas and fall in rain fall. One looks at the sentiment of the people to support bifurcation of the state but the same sentiment of people would not count in this context. there is nothing wrong with the procedure! India is a free country! every one has a right to do what they think appropriate with in the legal ambit! but government indulging in such things is just crossing the line! respecting your own culture is different and spending tax payers' money on superstitions is altogether different. they don't need to do it! it is obvious that they are not serious about rains or drought! they have some thing else in their minds! | ||
