since this happened on the day of options expiry, it is most likely compensation related. The co buys options on that day and gives him so that he gets shares. how do you know what his conversion deal is? may be he paid only $300. Rest paid by the company. why did you think he had to pay like you and I. His terms could be, that he would get 300K shares on a given day, for $1. Company bought the options and gave him for $1.
