Hyderabad: Kodali Nani, MLA from Gudivada constituency in Krishna district, reportedly had a prolonged meeting with Vangaveeti Radha at Vijayawada on Friday night on his way to Hyderabad. The consultations went on till wee hours on Saturday. According to reliable sources, the two young leaders were together till 2.30 am. Nani is understood to have been actively considering a proposal to join YSR Congress Party. There is a lot of pressure from his followers who expect the YSRCP to sweep the polls in that part of the State whenever elections are held. Besides Nani, Telugu Desam Party leaders like Vallabhaneni Vamsi are also being talked to by leaders of YSRCP. Yalamanchili Ravi, MLA from Kankipadu constituency in Krishna district, also being sounded. Vangaveeti Radha, who lost 2009 elections as a candidate of Praja Rajyam Party(PRP), is planning to join YSRCP on the 27th in the presence of the party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy. About 10 corporators of Vijayawada are expected to follow Radha into YSRCP. A public meeting is being planned on that day at the residence of Radha as a culmination of a big road-show. It is understood that Nani had hinted to film actor and campaigner for the TDP, Junior NTR, his mentor, that there is pressure from the people of his constituency to contest on YSRCP next time as that is seen as the winning party. Junior NTR had reportedly counseled patience saying that sooner or later, the TDP has to depend on his charisma and give important role in which case Nani would be in a better position. Nani did not seem fully convinced with that argument. Vamsi, who contested to Lok Sabha from Vijayawada as a TDP candidate in 2009, has been toying with the idea of jumping into Jagan’s bandwagon. He has been studying the pros and cons. To counter Radha’s moves, Nagababu, Chiranjeevi’s younger brother, is likely to hold a meeting at Vijayawada on May 1st to persuade leaders of erstwhile PRP not to leave the Congress.
