Is there a free down load? or an Eval version? Stuff should be super clean to acquire. Oracle 11g R2 is super clean to acquire. They bundled it with DW Builder as a Virtual Box appliance. download it and double click it, everything is clean and nice, when you are done just delete one file, you are done. I like solutions like that. OTOH, MS install is a nightmare, what all nonsense it does to the PC is unbelievable. But I do not have the SQL Server license to try it.. Where as the Oracle product is free. Tell me otherwise. I checked the product downloads page very confusing, it sounds like i need to have a SQL Server, not Express to use it. besides, windows is PITA as such. if you guide me how to acquire, I will go the MS route, right now not sure how to acquire it. kind of. finally i decided to use Oracle Data Warehouse Builder to tech as the ETL tool. It took 20 hours to download. Now I have to learn. In the mean time, one week was gone for taxes. It will take a couple of weekends to learn that gnarly tool and restart it. I am still working on the old job to finish off a project I was working on as a favor, so that is taking most of the spare time. New job also requires some new learning. basically life "vegam punjukundi" :-) But will resume soon.
