Black ticket mafia is back to haunt cine-goers in the city. The touts, who have been lying low for a long time now, were back in business on Thursday when Ramacharan Tejs Rachcha hit the big screens - the tickets were being sold at a price as high as Rs 800! The sudden rush for tickets even surprised the cinema staff. Soma Raj, who issues tickets at a theatre, said, With IPL season kicking off, we were worried about running to empty halls, but Rachcha seems to have undone it. Ever since the date was announced, there were lot of enquiries by the fans and tickets were sold off in no time. Fans of Ramcharan Tej, son of Chiranjeevi, have also started a new trend in the city. At Venkateshwara theatre, K R Puram, the morning show was to start at 11.30 am but Ramcharans fans started thronging the theatre premises as early as 5 am, forcing the theatre authorities to arrange a special screening at 7.30 am. Chalapathy, who watched the early morning show, said, Since Wednesday night, there was a huge crowd at the theatres and many were demanding a night show but the theatre staff did not oblige. But, people started gathering at the theatre from 5 am and started demanding a special show. The rush was so much that many watched the movie standing in the balcony. It may be recalled that when Chiranjeevis Indra movie was released a few years ago, his fans in Bellary had created a ruckus, forcing the theatre authorities to keep screening the movie the entire night before the day of its official release. Though the audiences were thrilled to watch their favourite hero, black ticketing dampened the spirits of many of them. Divya Rao, a college student, said, This is absurd. Whenever there is a big release, I have to buy ticket at a high price. It is high time the practice is stopped. http://www.bangaloremirror.com/article/10/201204062012040604 3126953fc9432d0/Tickets-for-Ramcharan%E2%80%99s-Rachcha-sell s-at-Rs-800-apiece.html |
