@Hyder, No to HDMI couplers. If you are falling short of cable, throw it away and buy a longer one. DIY subs looks cheap a$$ and good for dorms. A decent sub costs $400, so what are we saving here with DIY. It is easier to conceal the cable in basement anyway. | ||

that's why they charge money :-) They use a technique called fishing or snake... check this out... one guy did this in my loft 5-6 years ago... that's my old plasma. and 2 more sat speakers on the back.... ran the wires to them through attic. power / video cable for TV, speaker wires everything behind the wall. charged 400 bucks. worth the money IMO (at that time). http://tinypic.com/r/e6va8m/5 Don't say you don't have enough time. did u consider using cable concealers? u can paint them with ur wall color..aina vadu matram ela doorustadu through walls with out pre build mechanism built into walls to pass wires? Who is this DB member? | ||

I am not a handy guy to make holes in the wall and snake the speaker cable inside the walls to mount them. I don't like any cables hanging outside the walls... And hanging the projector from the ceiling is also not easy for someone like me Don't say you don't have enough time. Bro, Got couple of questions: - Will there be any diff in signal quality if i use HDMI coupler / connector to extend the length? - Any idea on DIY sub-woofers? My contractor tells me that he can build one for me and it will cost 1/3rd of standard subs. He has worked on many HT / AV projects in the past so he might be good... but i am little skeptical abt this DIY Sub... Don't say you don't have enough time.
