Yes. If the loan amount is less than or equal to 80% of appraised value, PMI is canceled during refinance. That's automatic. If you are not refinancing and believe that you have 20% equity based on market value, you have to pay for appraisal and prove the fact. It's your responsibility. | ||

That is FHA loan, PMI rates are high now. Run the numbers before you take that route and another issue with FHA financing is that the property should be your primary residence. You are stuck in the property till you refinance and refinance may be an issue till you build 20% equity in your home. BTW, are you a consulting or fulltime? | ||
