I have seen reverse. kids came from india at 5,6 years and continuing here. now they are 16,17. they dont know even the basic ettiquettes of receiving family calls(phone) or in-visits. intlo phone chesthey , manam kalividia matladutham, em kavali, leru andi, emanna cheppala, call back cheyyala etc etc ani. those teens doesnt behave this normal. phone etthi haloooo ani, mummy not there and hangup the phone anthey. intiki vellina, mee cousins ante, aaamudham taagina face reaction istharu, as if we are going to occupy his room ani. kRUshITHO nAsthee dURbhikSHAM!! I have friends who moved back when their son was in 8th grade. They have adjusted well enough  Kids adjust easily - they may complain and whine for a bit but they do.Adults have to adjust their expectations of the kids - it is a tough transition and if you expect your kids to perform at the same level as XYZ 's kids then you will have problems anukuntunna.
