Other than your arbitrary limit of 3 times a week is ok - i don't see where you are actually differing from what I said :-)

As long as your food is balanced and matched up to the burn, you feel good, your metrics are good i do not see how you can put a one size fits all diet limit :-)

And frankly comparing US vegetarian statisics to indian vegetarian diet is off - desis vegetarians have a lot more oil and ghee in their diet ... Ikkadollaki veggies ante steamed or sauted ...deserts and cream sauces lo fat tappa :-)

Alage indian nonveg diet is very diff from people here :-) for e.g.. i cook a curry and skim the fat off the top... Ade chicken kfc lo tinte caloric value different and indian fry/ manchurian style tinte valu different :-)

Point is yes - we need to be aware of what we eat and how our body reacts - and tune our diet to that - there is no need to follow every new blanket advice that comes out - manam karam tini tattukogalam - tellodiki aa karam pedite emi avutundo telusu kada :-) konaallu mirchi tinte ulcers tinoddu annaru - ippudu mirchi cuts cholesterol antunnaru :-)
