tammi my take is, this is not a sustainable activity. start building a solid portfolio. first layer are defensive stocks value plays like BRK.B GE MSFT or whatever u like. next layer is growth. next layer is small caps final tip are volatile options etc. then you can easily take a vacation othwrise you will be a slave of your trades. okay VXX ni etta play cheyalante, take a 3 month inmoney call and a put exactly at the same strike. poola sokka esukuni kooso vali. at some point it falls deep down. get rid of the put. you push the put as soon as you reach the no loss point. then wait for the upswing and sell the call. it could be other way too. first get rid of call and then put. the key is to sell the first leg at breakeven or better and the second leg is total profit or throw away. it's a profession by itself. they do it in a very disciplined manner. i have a friend who does that. he quit work and manages his cpl of mil portfolio. you need atleast 2-5 mil to make a decent profit like that.. i don't trade at all. only last two weeks i am groping to recover my losses. i do not login for weeks. all on auto pilot. make a decision and stick with it for a year or two. this got sucked into algo traders. keep cool. if you made enough get out and take AXP or Visa. Here are my trades today if anyone cares: exited MA with nice profit. spread the proceeds on RGLD, AXP and BRK.B.
