OT, if you can for a blind trust, you can buy a property using your 401K. No need to take the loan. You can use the entire amount.
But there are some rules. You must prove to the IRS that you are not enjoying that property in any manner what so ever. To do that, you have to buy and operate through a third party trust.
Google for slef operated 401K. This is a nice biz opp for an NRI who moved back and help the interested.

including me / you or any one else chesthondi enti ante, Apt cost 30 lakhs vunte 20 lakhs loan for 20 yrs time period nelaki katte EMI tho teeripothundi anukuntunnamu. Loan is good if you clear it in less than 3 yrs. Otherwise waste of india.
