take up an activity that makes you feel less dependent on appreciation at work. we are all suckers for a little pat on the back for a good job done. we not only want a pat, but a honest decent pat. Do NOT always look for these "dog biscuits" from your job. they dont OWE them to you. You want a dog biscuit, you have to give it yourself. Do something good. VW, just take it easy. Every thing depends on your priorities. What is your priority now? Staying in a job, make a living and pursue some independent aim such as becoming an entrepreneur or becoming rich? Then stay on and dont care all the insults. If your priority is living a life with no insults, quit and go. There are a lot of idiots in the world. Their thing in life is stoking their own ego and also get some pleasure in treating another guy like crap. They do all kinds of things. they stretch your self respect till it hurts. all this you have to take with a pinch of salt. all said and done, US is better than India in this respect. Read Steven Covey's books. He defines a Public Victory and Private Victory so eloquently. do not seek a public victory at your job, sometimes it is not given to you inspite of everything you do. so seek a private victory. start some activity. help others. work for a genuine cause. you would soon see a big light at the end of the tunnel. frankly one of the main reasons I started teaching every sat night is a series of irritations I had to go through at work last few years. this tangential activity makes me less emotionally dependent on work place derived happiness. all opinions expressed are mine and only mine. not to be attributed to the other IP address sharers, my employer, or any other human, animal, robot or alien. | ||
