Businessman failed to do wonders in overseas as expected. The film is indeed doing well in India but the overseas collections are much below the desired numbers. The buyers have estimated that the film would cross Dookudu in overseas collections seeing the trend in first week. Businessman collected Rs 5 Cr in first week in USA but in second week it dropped badly to Rs 20 Lakh. But in the case of Dookudu, the second week collections were Rs 2.5 Cr. This has marred the overall result. The main reasons for this fall are attributed to climatic conditions and also the content in the film. While one of the reasons is the heavy snow fall in East and heavy rains in west, the other reason is that there is no sufficient comedy in the film to draw crowds to theatres. Whatever be the scenario, so far, the top grosser in USA in the history of Telugu cinema are number one- Dookudu, number two- Businessman and number three- Magadheera. Who knows, looking at the speed of Mahesh Babu and the image that is growing, even the third place may be occupied by him soon. |
