Dookudu ki raasindhi Sunitha akkai http://www.cinegoer.com/telugu-cinema/sunitas-reviews/dookud u-movie-review-230911.html There are two types of films, type one..there is something called substance, the result could be good or bad at the box-office but people will talk about it and the actors ••• technicians can flaunt with pride to the future generation. Type two is kitsch, it could be taken from one's own films or be inspired from some other language movie, modified and altered with entertainment and requirement of the audiences in such a way that the result will be spoken of and measured only in money terms. It can mint huge money or it might not. Dookudu falls in that type two category, the movie has had fantastic openings obviously because of Mahesh but does that mean it is a good story? Dhee, a film by the same director had freshness, the comedians carried it on their shoulders, it would have worked with any actor as it's hero. As the director's success rate improved so has there been a change in star heroes but along with that the pressure on him to churn out a variety in comedy tripled. One can see the director suffering from a delusion that a character like Solomon Raj by MS Narayana could whip up something far more light and extensive here. The most proved and accepted part of entertaining audiences is by performing mimicry or actually making a spoof of film stars but if you keep watching it more than once it ends up being like Siva Reddy imitating Rajasekhar and you begging him to give you something novel. Very clearly the onus was on Brahmanandam and MS Narayana to provide the laughs though it was in their humility to say that they need padding. MS Narayana looked and behaved like a worn-out and extremely fatigued horse and through him the director fulfilled the target of eliciting laughs from aiming all the heroes and their fans. Brahmanandam wasn't spectacular though he got a lot of screen space. What about the story? The first few minutes which focused on the character played by Prakash Raj shows he is not going to vanish so fast or an actor like Prakash Raj will not be wasted in some inconsequential scenes. The father-son sentiment ruled throughout the film and romance takes a back seat in the second part of the story. The seriousness of the story is lost with villain Sonu Sood listening to Ghantasala's song and you know from here on they are going to end up as dummies. The film has too many plots, too many characters and very soon you give up the job of joining the threads together and would want to just sit back and not bother about the story but just follow the tamasha. Not that there are any pluses in the film, you genuinely feel the emotion when the son and father embrace each other in the last scene. The Telangana dialect by Mahesh worked but one sees no reason why he suddenly has to change his style of speaking. However uninteresting the story is the confidence and energy levels, the body language and the speed with which Mahesh said his dialogues is commendable. However none of the songs or dances made any lasting impact. As usual the lines given to him are traditionally characteristic especially when it came to describing the heroine her looks and reminded one of Athadu, how he is never direct in wooing girls. Samantha's make-up was bad, she was painted to be on par with Mahesh's colour. There is one scene in which she whispers and convinces Nasser about Mahesh being the right guy for her. Mahesh giving a blank stare and her dialogue having no extension in the second half of the story seemed very functional. The pairing was fresh but there wasn't enough scope to show the chemistry they shared, the romance ends abruptly however Samantha freaked out on the dances and seemed to enjoy every move. The movie appeared disjointed with Mahesh appearing, walking in and out of roles and costumes and rounding up with a cop's dress in the finale. He's had some sparkling dialogues here and there that would make his fans go berserk but that's about it. Parvati Melton makes an entry in a fabulous figure and Vennela Kishore's character is interesting amongst the rest of the comedians. Dookudu is too lengthy a movie, the story is again the same old (in caps) bundle of sugarcane sticks that has been folded with difficulty (in caps) and squeezed into the machine to extract juice | ||

Sunitakka PULI Review Puli was the original title of the film but was later changed to Komaram Puli, obviously to appease the 'T' agitators. Puli is an ideal police officer who has nothing on his mind but duty coupled with moral policing, he believes that the police needs to be policed first and instills a sense of discipline in his department. The trouble starts when Al Saleem a don parks his car in a no parking area and is fined by Puli, this hurts the don because it's just not the car that has been seized but his prestige too. In this course of interrogation, Puli gets to know that this don has a nexus with a dreaded terrorist Nixon who has sent a few men to the country through forged documents to create mayhem and commit a few murders. Now the aggrieved seek solace and Puli opens the case, and in the course of cracking the puzzled relationship between Nixon and Al Saleem, he gets to know a damning truth. Now what is it? Pawan Kalyan has put on some weight and grabs the opportunity to play the role of a police with panache. All his songs/dances are an absolute treat especially the number 'amma thale' and 'power star'. There are quite a few inspiring monologues that he reels off without even a slightest pause but you need to concentrate to follow it, he is so swift in his delivery, he suddenly breaks into a telangana dialect. His sincerity is visible and the role suits him to the hilt but if he continues to take three long years for every film, it will be the age that becomes visible. The action scenes and body language will make his fans go into frenzy and the romance between the debutante and him is silly but entertaining. The hero whose heart triggered a conflict in Kushi while gaping at women's midriff, makes him go weak, stammer, stutter and meow like a cat in one similar scene. Nikesha Patel oozes oomph, looks hot and attractive, she sizzles in her reasonably adequate role given to her. Manoj Bajpai impresses once again, the scenes between him and Pawan Kalyan are engaging, but the dialogue that steals your heart comes from Puli's mother Saranya while in a discussion with Nasser. About the film Komaram Puli, everything goes fine but towards the second half of the film the content flounders. It is from one villain to a non existing one and from a non existing one to three more people that the hero needs to bump off and the finale is abrupt. Leave the impossible intro and the disappointing finale and enjoy the middle, that is you will learn to enjoy the film if you identify with Puli's character and commentary than with SJ Surya's story telling technique. You walk away enjoying Pawan Kalyan's work but the film gives you a feeling that somewhere towards the end the director lost interest. | ||

I saw the film and wondering why the web media killed some really good things in the film with their baseless reviews. this review shows exactly what i felt after the movie...........looks like OKKAMAGADU HEAT IS CATCHING UP AGAIN... if ur an authentic nandamuri fan go watch it again with a cool head,you will feel the breeze on the shore flashing at u... With a pompous title like Okka Mogadu, and a die hard fan of the Nandamuri clan handling the ambitious project, one expects nothing short of a grandiose film. The hype preceding the filmâ��s release about Balakrishna playing a dual role had expectations soaring but a clichéd plot and characters with a weird make up (Simran and Sr NBK) intended to give a natural look mars the enthusiasm of the movie goers on the opening day. The film however illogical makes it a worth watch for only one reasonâ�¦Balakrishna. Never has the actor looked so young, so good in the recent years and never has he blended so beautifully in the directorâ��s line of thinking. Brilliantly portrayed the senior simply roars onto the screen and dominates the central segment of the movie leaving the junior with some duets. Poor direction has plummeted the actorâ��s career graph of late but this one film with his dances and dialogues will silence his critics and mimicry artistes whoâ��ve had a field day imitating him. Simran is the centerfold of the piece. There are a host of other cameos from actors, but really it comes down to these three. A refined version of Bharateeydu, the music is delightful and infectious and dialogues pack substance and lend credibility to the part pre-independence drama. The camerawork is beautifully integrated and the angles used in the songs/setups are wonderful at sucking the audience into the scenes. Style drips from every frame. A lot of love went into the production values of this film. Violence is restricted to a minimum and certain sexual innuendos and conversations from Anushka and Nisha fall short of perversity. Their characters are ambiguous and pre-eminently their job is to lust for Balakrishna. YVS Chowdary would have been a happy man instantly had he chosen a simple romantic ••• action story but with the complicated plot he will have to play the waiting game and depend on Balakrishnaâ��s charms alone to become the winner of the festival films | ||

Already padithe light .. Business Man Review by Sunitha Chowdary ( Censor Board Member ) who saw the movie on 3rd of Jan Puri Jagan's latest film Businessman is neither stylish nor slick, it is just clever and hugely entertaining. In little over two hours he packages a drama full of substance, action never over the top yet embellished with right songs in the right places. The piece de resistance arrives at the climax, Puri Jagan couldn't have ended it better. Inarguably the best after Pokiri for both Mahesh and Jagan, they spin off an enchanting action story that would cater to our burgeoning tribe of DVD collecting connoisseurs, especially the hero's fans. It is an absolute treat from scene one to the last with the typical Puri Jagan lines that make it the selling factor. It does border on profanity but it suits the story and ambiance, the location - Mumbai. Surya (Mahesh) has an interesting character, he comes to Mumbai to rule and to find a queen all through a scheme, and he wins both of them through a pistol. Most of the time the wannabe don does the walking and also the talking. If one man has to speak so much and also make sense the dialogues have to be sharp and succinct and it is. There are no comedians as such specially designed to tickle you, it is the don again who even in the midst of a serious fight grabs the villain's weapon and kills a few and again flings it across the same man, asks him to load the weapon again. His demonic glee comes to the fore when he promises to keep the lady love's painting in the garage where he dumped the Picasso and walks away wondering how he could fall for a stupid, beautiful creature. Another thing that works for Businessman is that there are no stretched out climax, the director keeps you swinging like a pendulum, wavering like the heroine wondering if what the hero speaks is the truth or not. Surya doesn't give any one a chance to speak and even if he does he takes over quickly. He wants power, he makes rules, his word is the gospel and his crime is driven by humanity and his acts all have a reason behind. Just because you saw a part of the song in the trailer, are you dying to see the entire numbers of Sir Osthara and Pilla Chao? There is hardly any innovation in the choreography. Kajal Aggarwal as Chitra does a whimpering act, she maintains a good physique, there is confidence in her work but the fresh look of a daisy is gone. Shweta Bhardwaj is a good replacement to Mumaith Khan. Mahesh does a cool job, not manipulative, just street smart, rises like a meteor and towards the end brings an intensity to the role that shows he has a heart and a conscience after all. He is adorable. Puri Jagan is not daringly different in his mode of narration, his approach appears fresh and he follows the structure and framework of filmmaking faithfully. He has rectified all the mistakes that he had committed in his previous films and has learnt to balance the film perfectly. Even the length is just right. Puri desperately needs a hit, Mahesh is looking forward to consolidate and reaffirm his position, Kajal wants to prove she still retains the best combination of looks and the work..all mean business and if the audience find Mahesh even slightly likeable and the story, narration reasonably entertaining, then there is no stopping Businessman. FYI, the director should keep in mind that the hero has a vast following among children and they would be deprived of his cinema if given an A certificate, by now he should be knowing what dialogues need censorship.
