Jobs showed great deal of respect in his biography about this very first deal. Woz is the stalwart,but shy guy. Jobs is the sales guy who sold his ideas. Woz used to give away his ideas to his co-developers freely and Mr Jobs thought commercial tips to this guy. They were friends from their HP days. | ||

poor woz, here is the story :-) hilarious.. Jobs saved money and traveled to India with a college friend searching for philosophical enlightenment and returned home with a shaved head and wearing traditional Indian clothing ready to resume working for Atari creating a circuit board for the game Breakout. Atari made an offer of $100 for each chip reduced in the Atari machine so Jobs knowing little about circuit boards made a deal with the knowledgeable Wozniak to split the money between them. Wozniak amazingly reduced the chip count by 50, which ended up being impossible to reproduce on a production line. He is a nice guy. He was so brilliant, he wrote an entire word processor straight in machine code. Not even in Assembler. I do not know your background, but if you are an EE guy, you will know how insane it is. I just admire him that he actually thought of doing it. anyway, I was told he is a Billionaire. He just loves his hacking. He was in tears when Jobs passed away. He is also know for his dry humor. When everyone is •••••••• about how iPhone does not multitask, he called the media for an iPhone "multitasking demo". antha ledu. as a system designer, i know how hard it is to change the SAN infrastructure all of a sudden to a flash architecture. One great advantage of SAN architecture is the geographic distribution and associated redundancy. If they convert that into a single board flash based disk, it will become fast, but it brings two limitations (1) volatility - power off, data off (2) it is all in one geographic location, so disaster prone. but where it scores is, for many mundane uses, it gives a big boost in performance. performance wise, SAN << SSD << FIO ani nenu anukuntunna. But the cost equation would be exactly opposite. Another way to look at this is, this is a disasster for EMC, NTAP, Seagate, HP etc. So, one of them will buy them up very quickly.
