Mav, maa vollu etta manage chesaaro telidu. Naa official DOB ki original DOB ki 8 months diff undi. So, naa official records lo unnattugaa BC ni 2007 lo teesukunnaaru. Municipal office lo oka relative undi kooda kudaraledu (another Rules Ramanujam in our family). Maa FIL elaago manage chesi BC ippinchaaru, with the date that matches my transcripts. maverick, another small but significant issue is, if the BC data is correct, modifying it to a wrong date and submitting to the US Govt under oath is a crime. be careful about such things. | ||

adi naku telvadu kani, nenu vij lo enquiry cheste, after some age limit, it is next to impossible to get any changes to the DOB. They give copies. No changes, such as amending name, date, parents name etc. It has to be done under the supervision of a court/judge. I may have been bussafied, but that is what I know. again, everything I talk abt India is atleast 15 years old :-)) | ||

edo oka rule undi. after 16 years or some age limit, they wont give a duplicate DOB in India. They are concerned about manipulating retiirement beneifts. so, very hard to get it for adults. | ||

why are you changing a correct date to a wrong date? BC is the correct date. BC is hard to change. Long process. In USA, nobody cares about how many places the DOB is entered right or wrong. | ||

you have to see the problem upside down. Consider the problem as such: Your school cert shows wrong DOB = who cares? None. Your Indian Passport shows wrong DOB. Who cares in USA? Nobody. Where is the problem? If you want to solve the Indian Passport, apply for a new one. You can ask for amendments or if it is close to expiry get a new one, with correct DOB. For all US applications, what you have in the Birth Cert is your authentic cert. | ||

I was discussing about this a month ago with a friend who got the same problem.... peru maarpu ki. India lo academic records editing koncham time taking and strenuous process.. no fixed rules. endukante...first tenth nuchi start cheyyaali. Inter vaadu 10th vunte ne edit chestaadu... graduation vaadu 10th & Inter aduguthaadu....then PG...so forth best thing would be to get some sort of certificate ?affidavit saying all the academic certificates (with a list of certificates in it) got typo ani, mention the corecct DOB in it and then it is legally allowed to use them.... then apply for change of DOB in passport.
