However if you are concerned about jury duty, then fill out a change of address form. Give them an out of state friend's address, give them an out of country address, any of those would be sufficient to change your address in this state's records. 4. Bank Accounts - Most banks with proper identification even open NRA accounts, so yes they will accept an international address, but there are thousands of banks across the country and to be absolutely certain, we need to check with your bank. If you post your name account #, bank phone #, we can call the bank when we have time and let you know. Now, don't take that seriously, I hope you get the point, stop by your bank and talk to customer rep, call them, go to their website and check - these are the alternatives. Perhaps some other members can comment on experience with private mail forwarding services, that may do this for a charge. · Filing taxes, if I earn money in RS should I file tax in India and US? Or should I file tax in India for RS earned in India and file tax in US for any earnings like bank interest earned in US. You are a US citizen and will have to file US taxes. US taxes on global income, which means interest earned in India etc will be taxed by USA subject to a foreign tax credit. The earned income (salary) is subject to certain exclusions and I suggest to spend some time reading threads in the Finance Sub forum on this site. India also taxes on the global income. However when you return to India, you may have perhaps two years of RNOR status (depends upon how many years you have been outside India). During your RNOR status, india will not tax you on any global income, but just only on Income earned in India. After RNOR, India will tax on global incoem subject to foreign tax credit / DTAA. | ||
