1. First the educated section have to participate in voting. 2. They should know what to expect from an MLA, and what to expect from a corporator, and a mayor. If even the educated do not know this difference, how can an uneducated person know. He will think that it is the job of the politician to pay him for voting him. 3. Apart from all this, educated should come out and give some time to the community. Main problem is #1. Some ppl fulfill #1, and think that they have done a favor. They expect the MLA to turn their area into singapore/hongkong overnight. But the fact is that they do not even know what an MLA is supposed to do, and why they elected him. | ||

Thammud, When I was in Bangalore few years back. There were 2 promiment canidates...Knowing about their profile, I voted for the lesser corrupt guy. But it turned out that he did more damage. Blame it on power. What is wrong when an educated guy curses the politician in power. When an politician is elected and does not do his job properly, then he needs to know. Why LSP did not win any in the rural areas in 2009. But it is good that they are gaining ground now in villages. I think next elections it will be TDP: 100, cong 60, Jagan 40, TRS 40, JP 30, rest others. | ||

Rural dwelling farmers know more about politics, and how it affects their lives than urban dwelling, educated ppl. Uneducated, illiterate ppl are far better than the educated class. The uneducated guy is at least participating in voting. The educated elite mostly limited to watching TV, and cursing political parties at the comfort of his arm chair. LSP cadre has grown at least 10 times in last year. MOstly among rural areas, and farmers. | ||
