there are few things to consider about federer: Federer suffered with mono for almost a year and lost quite a bit of edge. Still he was in all finals and the matches were very close, even when Nadal beat him in wimbleton or AO or FO. some of the games could have gone either way. Also federer acheived everything got two lovely twin girls, much older to Nadal and inspite of all these still ee level performance is so hard to acheive. Saying that Nadal has the potential to become one of the greatest (is already is), but one of the top 3 players to ever play tennis. Only time will tell | ||

Kaanivvandi fed fans.. what ever makes you feel happy.. Nadal always worked on his weak points. He was unstoppable on clay but was beaten on grass. He went home and started the practice the nest day. He worked on his top spin. He closed the gaps and came back and took fed on his strongest court. Fed was overconfident and never worked to improve his game or on how to take the bull. Agreed his single handed backhand cannot handle so many revolutions but he should have come up with some plan. In this db, there's always someone watching you!! | ||

6 ayithe kottaledu le....the best match FED played on grass was 2001 against pete...okkasari aa match soodu appti court ki ippatiki difference... FED's game is not against powerful hitters...he is too graceful ya.... one thing you have to give to FED is consistency...nobody will ever match his 26 QFs or 23 SF's...nobody will ever have that kind of consistency again we feel sampras opponents were better than Fed's opponents but thats nostalgia ...becker, edberg were good but not in the 90's...they were amazing between 85 and 90...sampras had one true opponent and thats aggasi and sampras had an upper hand....were sampras failed was in the FO and at that FO and other courts were like nakka and naga lokam type | ||

I think Fed has psycho issues with nadal and in general, when fed loses closely contested points - points that need some ingenuous placements or some beautiful work - he tends to lose it. ninnda 5-2 lead lo unnapudu first set lo, there were at least 3 or 4 points where nadal pulled it off. some beautiful movement and placements. anthey, inka dhani tharvatha fed was totally lost. | ||

murray is afar better player than chang...chang won only the FO in 1989(youngest at that time)...murray has more GS appearances than chang.... sampras is the best player when it comes to fast courts...even wimbledon was fast until 2003....now wimbledon is nothing but french court painted green...the era of sampras had better players than Federer is a bit of stretch....becker was a shadow of himself in the early 1990's...he won only the AO in 1996...went without a GS for 4 years...yes becker arguably is one of wimbledon's original champs....went to the finals 7 times won 3 times but he lost to sampras and edberg who were as good as him in the wimbledon I doubt if nadal would win in those blazing fast wimbledon courts but times have changed and players have to adapt...FED is getting old to adapt to these plays....in the 90's you had specialists in one type of court...clay or grass ...now wimbledon and FO are not that far ....ivanesevic, courier, muster, brugeira they are all specialists not allrounders like FED/RAFA winning in the 90's was more skill , nowadays its just power power and power...FED is at the loosing end bcoz his game is built on skill and grace....RAFA scores at a better player with power play....djoker is keeping up with rafa in this area...where djoker falls is his inability to beat both rafa and fed in the same GS....until he gets both in the same GS he cannot be counted | ||

That shows how good the two are in taking out their opponents. These two not only they beat their opponents game, but their confidence. Take Soderling/Verdasco/Bird in the last couple of years. The game is played by humans and humans 'age'. and if you know how older is fed to nadal, then there wont be this discussion. I dont remember when fed withdrew from a competition stating injuries. 10 straight finals appearances. 8 straight finals appearances. Only a super human can achieve this feat considering tha fact that him winning 16 slams. The only feat fed needs to accomplish is davis cup. That should seal his legacy for years to come. Roger Federer is widely considered the Greatest of All Time (GOAT). His record speaks for itself. But during today's match TV commentator Mary Carillo brought up an interesting point. She said why is Roger the greatest and not Rafa who beat Roger 17 times to Roger's 8? She also said how can Roger be the greatest of all time if he cannot beat a great player from his own era. And John Mac added Rafa has an Olympic gold to his name and also he is part of 2 Davis cup winning teams. So is Rafa really the greatest of all time and not Roger? To me, today's match is just another instance of the greatest clay court player of all time beating the greatest player of all time. In my opinion Roger Federer is the greatest of all time. Having said that, if Rafa can sustain a long and injury free career like Roger did, and if he can equal or surpass Roger's record, he might be considered the Greatest. But then, to me Roger will always remain as the Greatest ever just for the beauty of his game. What an artist he is! And Rafa, what a competitor he is! Long live Roger and Rafa!!! |
