2009: per Law say, LABOUR and I-140 are the property of the company and hence the Financial responsibility also.

its upto which the PROFESSIONAL JOB relationship of employer/employee exists and he pays for it.

I-485 need not be company sponsored (financially).

bro, this is pretty common in small companies as well as mid sized companies.
if u plan to stay with them, my suggestion is to discuss these openly and be prepared to bear costs...

2009:

by law company is responsible for H-1 costs also

but when you are dealing with desi companies, you know the story.

same thing with GC also. If YOU want GC, get ready to bear some of the cost

it depends, techinically if u can work them for another 4-5 yrs on h1, then its not their responsibility. gc sponsorship is like a perk in the initial years of h1. if u r in the 5th year, then its mandatory for the company to sponsor gc if they want to retain ur services

I think Labour varaku company is responsible for the costs.

company is responsible, but negotiate with employer if they do not think so...GC is a time consuming process, may be u can share or pay the costs over a period of time
few 1000 dollars over a few years with mental peace dat at least some GC proces is in place vs uncertainty
my 2 cents!
