dealers won't do auto body,usually auto body's will provide the information to carfax.if you do it as a repair with out insurance claim then no worries.it won't show up in carfax. | ||

The mistake is from both.. The friend should have NEVER let a drunk person drive. Let alone in his own car. Only when people are at the receiving end do they understand the consequences. Also, it is stretching a bit to ask the friend to be financially responsible for the damage. Google should return the car with best repair. I lost a friend to drunken driving. The driver of the other car was drunk at a party and rear ended my friend's car at 70 mph in when my friend stopped at a red light. Both the cars caught flames and my friend was instantly dead/burnt alive. Passerby's rescued the drunken people first and by the time they reached mu friends car, it was too late  | ||

Mav is correct in ethical point of you. Law would only make google is as culprit. His friend would say he snatched key from my pocket and took car. If his friend know that he is drunk and he is taking is car / his friend gave keys to his friend when he asked while drunk then his friend also should be screwed. Dude it is too bad to assume things and defend a drunkard's action. Did you even consider the fact that OP might have taken the car from his friend before he was drunk and partied till wee hours? If you had read the first post of OP he clearly mentioned that the owner of the car is NOT with him when the accident happened. It is just freaking 5k USD. Why the fuss? Issue will be reported to his insurance saying incident occurred when u are driving. Ins pays for the damage becos he bought the rider. Will go into ur Driving history as incident. Since the claim si becos of rider ur freind will not face policy increase. U can pay that guy one time payment of $1000 for inconvenice. | ||

Since Google is drunk typically Insurance companies may not cover under such cases esp Credit card insurance. Its real bad financially. Good thing on a side note is in some states without having anyiinsurance u cant even drive. Google mama, U can ask ur freind to take it on his insurance and u will pay whatever the insurance premium increase for the next 3 years. That way u will pay him over a period of 3 years instead of coughing the whole 5K in one stroke. Also Insurance premium may increase max of 800-1000 only | ||

depending on the insurance you may end up paying 50-150 more for each six months for upto five years. so for five yrs it would be 500-1500 extra. if you use your insurance deductible + $500 to $1500 what it could be. if you avoid insurance and pay cash now, it would be 5K also the remark stays in your driving history (if reported to COP). what about the car that was parked on the curb side? any one noticed this and reported to cops? it may be a hit and run case, be careful. | ||
