Good review. Same damn point driven to death over 2.5 hours. I don't know what the heck Bhaskar was thinking. They should've used voiceovers to introduce Genni as the bubbly, naive girl looking for love and Charan as the cynical youngster. Instead we had to put up with 45 mins of mental patient and ultra cynic's introduction. While I think Charan is a great dancer, the choreographer using the same 2 white guys and 3 white girls again and again as backup dancers for every song got tiring after the second song. Novel idea of dances driven to death too. You are going to miss me while I am gone. | ||

mumbai flashback was good...all songs were good ..rooba and hello ramante the best....charan costumes and hairstyles rocked...awesome style...no one in tfi can come closer to him in style...skydiving fight was ok ..but charan must hv really worked hard for tht and too risky one.. | ||

May be i am the last one to review it in the DB Didn't get a chance to psot my view as i was on vacation/traveling over long weekend. Saw the movie in Maryland. Hardly 10 people for Friday night 10 PM show. Coming to the movie, i don't think it is completely a new idea or concept. Presentation was also not new. To keep it simple - Swayamvaram + Chirunavvutho lo concept teesukoni Arya-1 style lo present cheyadaniki try chesaadu. May be he extended the ideology one step ahead... As everyone said, first 20 mins has gone terribly wrong. I can see what he was trying to do i.e establishing genny's char as bubbly/innocent girl. But she went overboard to say the least. By the end of 1st half we know what protagonist is all about and what he is talking. It was pretty clear. Couple of bemmi-genny episodes were funny. Once he told us the ideology that charan believes in... he should've gone ahead. But he doesn't. He keeps saying it all the way till the climax. We keep hearing the same ideology explained in 100 different ways. This is when i felt like, "Alright, we got the point 40 mins ago. What's next? Move on..." Flashback was gripping. Short n sweet. After the flashback we are forced hear some more dialogues explaining the same ideology yet again. And by the time we reach climax, we can clearly see that dir was completely confused (or influenced?) about how he want to end the story. Every single dialogue, example was good but you don't need so many of them to drive the point. Had it been a book, i would've given it 4/5 as too many dialogues won't bother me much while reading. Does anyone remember the 10-20 page long speeches in "angels n daemons" or "atlas shrugged"? But as a movie, i would have to give it 2.5/5 A good director should be able to show his concept/story on screen. He should not depend on the hero to lecture non-stop for 2 hours. If they wanted to make a path breaking film with this kind of concept, they should've gone for less than 2 hour duration by removing all those unnecessary fights, reducing the number of speeches/analogies etc. Whatever you do in life will be insignificant. But it's very important that you do it |
