Traffic & Major Roads: * Dr. JP proposed the below roads to resolve the traffic woes en route Hitech City and JNTU junction * 1. Road connecting NH9 (near Metro) and Kaitalapur via IDL cheruvu (work in progress), * 2. Road from Moosapet to Malaysian Township Junction via Anjaneya nagar (tendering process), * 3. 100 feet road from Hitech City to Erragadda via Parvathanagar (work in progress) * 4. 80 feet wide BT Road connecting Amaravathi Hotel (Madhapur Main Road) and the new road from Moosapet to Malaysian Township Road (From 1.20KM to 3.60KM tender stage) * 5. A small road connecting Usha Mullapudi road & Road no.1 for free flow of traffic in both the directions * To ease the movement of traffic and facilitate the pedestrian movements, three foot-over bridges are sanctioned. (JNTU, Kukatpally, Moosapet). This would help the pedestrians for crossing the roads easily and also helps in better handling of traffic as pedestrian intervention would be reduced. * An underground railway bridge worth 1.69 cores was constructed at Mothinagar which providesthe shortest route from Moosapet to Mothi-Nagar. This underground route will bypass the pedestrians thus reducing the human traffic intervention on Main roads. This would ease the vehicle traffic movement on the roads. * 13 new bus shelters were sanctioned in the constituency •2. Roads and Drainage: * Dr. JP got Rs. 42 crores worth of work sanctioned to expand NH9 from 4 lanes to 6/8 lanes from Miyapur to Punjagutta and to improve the JNTU junction. Conducted a meeting with officials of all the departments in the presence of Principal Secretary R&B to ensure better coordination for the execution of this work. * 159 CC Roads worth 29.35 Crores are sanctioned in the constituency * v 85 CC Roads completed * v 17 CC Roads are under construction * v 57 will be taken soon on priority basis * 68 BT roads worth 11.44 Crores are sanctioned in the constituency * v 48 Roads completed, 6 are in progress * v Remaining 14 will be taken up on priority basis * With the efforts of Dr.JP, HMDA has agreed to lay road to Dilkush Nagar which is isolated. Construction of a Storm water drain, worth 2.93 Crores, from Sunnam Cheruvu to Railway bridge at Safdar Nagar in WardNo. 32 & 33 is in progress * RCC Storm water drain, worth 1.03 crores, to reinforce the existing nala in Snehapuri colony, Kabeer Nagar * 15 cores worth UGD works are taken up in Kukatpally circle. * Approx 42 Lakhs worth UGD work is in progress at Syamlal building area in Begumpet. * 6 STP's (Sewerage Treatment Plant) are proposed to be arranged in Kukatpally Constituency. The STP at Kazakunta of Kukatpally is completed, the STP at IDL Lake is on the verge of completion, 2 other STP's are sanctioned and the work will be started soon & 2 others are yet to be sanctioned. Cost of each STP is around Rs. 10 Crore. * Proper draining of rain water is given due importance in the constituency. Remodeling and widening of 3 identified naalas are taken up at an approximate cost of Rs. 32 Crores. * Rs 3.92 Cr. Of Drainage works in Seshadri nagar à Drainage connecting 1st STP in KP •3. Drinking Water: * 7 Crores worth water works are done throughout the constituency after Dr. JP assumed the office. * The water supply for more than 60,000 connections in the constituency (10% of water connections in Hyderabad) is 8 MGD (Million Gallons Per day). The desired level is 20MGD. Dr. JP's consistent efforts have increased the water supply to 12MGD. The desired supply would be reached soon. * Dr. JP has taken up the two long pending projects one at Moosapet and the other one at Swarnadhama Nagar which started in 2005 under APURMSP (AP urban renewal mission for slum poor). Pipe lines were laid with a cost of 60 lakhs in Moosapet and 25 lakhs in Swarnadhama Nagar. Construction of an over head tank worth 66 lakhs is in progress at Moosapet. * Diversion of Godavari water to Hyderabad costs the exchequer 3000Cr. and takes a span of 10years. Dr. JP spoke to the CM and recommended the completion of Krishna phase III, as this can be completed with a mere cost of 600cr within 6 months. Completion of Phase III will increase water flow into our constituency * Rs. 80 lakhs were sanctioned for elimination of contamination in drinking water. 25 lakhs are from MLA funds & the remaining from Water Board. * Power Bore wells are dug in all the divisions in the whole constituency. Booster Pumps worth 24 lakhs are also provided in few areas to enhance the water supply. •4. Schools: A wide range of activities have taken place in this sector. Education is given utmost importance and the results could be visualized soon. * Class Room Construction: After doing a comprehensive survey in the constituency and presenting the same, AP State Govt. has approved to construct 23 new class rooms in 8 schools in Kukatpally under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan. Also 5 high schools in Kukatpally were sanctioned 30 new class rooms under Rastriya Madhyamika Siksha Abhiyan. * Permanent Buildings for schools in Community Halls: There are 17 primary schools which are being run in community halls. The land identification for the construction of new buildings is already completed and a report has been sent to GHMC for approval. The construction work will be started soon. * Land Allotment for Govt. Schools and Colleges: Dr. JP wrote to Collector RR district to allot 4 acres of land for the construction of Govt. Degree College in Kukatpally. The high school in Babbuguda needs land for the construction of new classrooms for which we have requested the marketing department to allot 1 acre of land adjacent to the school. In principle, we have got the approval for 1/2 acre land and we are waiting for the resolution from the government for the same. Similarly, we have requested the GHMC to give the land adjacent to Girls High School in Janatha Nagar, Moosapet for the construction of new class rooms. * Toilets Lack of proper sanitation facilities is one of the major problems in the schools. After Dr. JP took up this issue Education department has started the construction of 10 new toilets & the GHMC has agreed to construct 13 new toilets. Toilets for rest of the schools will be taken up in the next year. * Mid Day Meal Programme Dr. JP has requested the Govt. to outsource the mid day meal preparation to Naandi Foundation in all 46 Govt. schools in Kukatpally. This was approved by the DEO, Dist. Collector and is awaiting the approval of Secretary, school education. * Academic Excellence We are discussing with some NGOs, corporates and individuals on improving the academic standards in schools and we have prepared a road map on how to improve the academic standards of the schools. •5. Electricity: * Sufficient land is allotted for a newly sanctioned 50 Crore worth 220/132/33KVA power substation at KPHB Phase IV for providing quality power supply to the residents of Kukatpally, which is ready for construction. * Three new 33KVA substations, each worth 3 crores, are planned for construction to meet the daily electricity needs of KKP. They would be erected at * 1. Khaitalapur * 2. JNTU * 3. Metro (Near Kukatpally) * 6. Ration Shops: * A survey is conducted on the functioning of the ration shops and feedback is also taken from the people. The rations shops which were serving people twice a month earlier are now open for 10days a month. DSO conducted a meeting with dealers and gave strict instructions to dealers asking them to give regular service and formed ‘Rangareddy Food Advisory Committee', this is aimed to help the poorest of the poor people to get their ration properly. •7. Employment: * Organisations like MEPMA, MSME, NAC, ALEAP, Telugu Mahila Pranganam, SETWIN, Dr.Reddy's Foundation, GVK Foundation have come forward for training the people and providing jobs. So far ALEAP trained 35 members and 25 got jobs and with the help of SETWIN we conducted interview for 60 people and 12 of them got Jobs. * 4000 small scale industries have problem in Balanagar surrounding area, The land allotment for the establishment is under consideration and efforts are being made for identifying the land with consultation with APIIC. •8. Self Help Groups: * Efforts are in progress to open individual bank accounts to 1706 sanitation workers (belonging to the 86 groups) in the constituency which will drastically increase transparency in the wage payments. * Dr. JP has requested the concerned authorities to identify the genuine self help groups and our party volunteers are working on educating the self help groups on the different Govt. schemes by which they can be benefitted. •9. Health & Liquor: * Dr. JP proposed the well equipped sub centers * Dr JP proposed either New PHC or Public Private Partnership for the existing UHC * Conducted liquor awareness campaign in Moosapet and KPHB area * All the belt shops were closed in Moosapet * Illegal sitting at KPHB temple bus stop was demolished * Attacked a mess at RS brothers where liquor was supplied illegally * Loksatta is working with citizens to stop un-authorized sittings •10. Rythu Bazaar at JNTU: * Seeing the ever increasing demand from the public for the goods available at RythuBazar Dr. JP has proposed the construction of a multi storeyed building which will have 250-300 shops instead of the existing 100 shops and requested concerned authorities to improve the participation of farmers * Dr. JP has also proposed a separate building for Non Veg market which will help the vendors who are running the business opposite to the RythuBazar and this will also reduce the traffic. * Dr. JP has requested the concerned authorities to identify place in Road #1 to shift fish market •11. Protection of public lands (Parks, Lakes & Community halls): * 41 open places are protected by constructing walls and in those; construction of 16 parks is taken up * 29 Community halls and buildings are constructed * All the 14 lakes present in Kukatpally are surveyed and FTL (Full Tank Level) stones are laid for 3 lakes. Rs. 7.7 lakhs is sanctioned for laying the FTL stones for all the lakes to prevent encroachment of the lake area. * To avoid further encroachments of the lakes, efforts are in progress with different government departments to make sure that the registrations of the lands within the boundaries of these 14 lakes are not being done. * Dr.JP requested the CM to form Land protection committee which would protect the lands throughout Hyderabad from encroachments. * Proposed shifting of Kukatpally Truck Parking area and to develop the same place for community use, construction of an auditorium and a shopping mall •12. Miscellaneous works: * 11 crores worth footpaths, center divider, public toilets, and walking tracks are in progress. * To avoid accidents 4 to 6 lakhs worth of manholes are replaced in each division. * Identified 54 Acres of land near Kamuni Cheruvu and sent proposals to HMDA to develop this lake like Durgam cheruvu * 6 to 10 hi-max lights in each division and based on the requirements street lights are fitted in circle Congress, the worst thing ever to happen to Bharat | ||

I one of the parts of kukatpally, people wanted two bridges to be built. They were fed up with inaction, and were convinced that nothing will happen. JP challenged that he will get those done. One bridge is nearing completion, and the second one will be done in a yr. Rs 300+ crores is being spent on different development schemes. Of that about 50% is being spend only for traffic problems. People want everything done in their area, but without their participation. Examples - 1. People themselves occupy drains, or put trash and clog it, and then complain about drainage problems. 2. People want a transformer in their lane, but not in front of their house, coz they want to use the public road to park their car.
