from an analyst i subscribe to I am holding May 62.5 calls into earnings looking for strong margins and strong transaction volume growth. Approx $412,000 call premium bought and $160,000 put premium sold. Small bullish bias. This morning there was a large seller of March 60 puts of 4,000 contracts on the bid for $1.85 credit. Separately, there is 2,600+ volume in March 65 calls. Scanning all that action of 20+ size lots, I show more than 60% bought on the offer and small percentage of sellers. Previously, the biggest of all bulls (as recorded in Activity Tracker) showed up a month ago when they bought very long term Jan'17 60/75 bullish risk reversal 5,700x. Still remains in open interest. Then two weeks on February 10, there was similar bullish risk reversal done in May. Fundamentally, I am really following Morgan Stanley's lead here. okay, here we go. Start with income statement, take the last 5 year data and build for this year based on forecast provided by the company. you will get a trend and build forecast i.e., proforma income statement for the next 5 years. you need to know the company really well and reading all the fine print (MD&A) from every quarterly/annual reports will help. You do the same with Balance Sheet. Once the proforma income statements and balance sheets are ready for the next 5 years, I normally take WACC approach (or cash flow approach) to calculate the a) cash from operations, b) free cash flow, c) terminal value, d) total free cash flow NPV of terminal value plus total free cash flow minus outstanding debt will give you Value of Equity. You know the number of shares outstanding, so you divide the Value of Equity with # of shares to get a fair value. Key assumptions in this calculation are perpetual growth rate, WACC (weighted average cost of capital). | ||
