Acting paramga naaku nachinna Mahesh movies Murari, Okkadu, Athadu, Pokiri (ULTIMATE), Dookudu so far. Worst acting in Nani, SM, BM. Other movies OK acting. For me -even though it is an average movie and could have been well made, some important steps vesaadu : - giving a meaty role to Naresh. Naresh was always a better actor and he fit the bill - no climax fights and thigh slaps. - focusing on a few social issues - be it farmers' pride or corporate grip on country or pipeline etc. - even though it's a long winding road to reach destination and reminded of few movies, it's not about the story here. It's the journey through phases and realizations. A tight narration would have helped but overall not bad. Social issues should have been told in an interesting way. Majili and jersey are excellent movies but they did not reach all sections. Telugu audience are still warming up to movies without commercial elements. You still hear about not enough comedy or preachy etc. So it's a balancing act and they partly succeeded. Next movie out and out entertainer for fans. Lineup looks promising. | ||

I thought the last 15-20 min and the end song were good again and I connected a lot with the first half. For me, I can generally take 15-20 min of boredom in the middle if I think the rest of the movie is special which is the case with this one. Naaku alaane Nijam, nenokkadine. Also, I know it is just a movie, but I really liked the concepts of weekend farming and adding agriculture subject to curriculum. I always thought Telugu should be added to inter and Eamcet syllabus. If Telugu and farming are added in eamcet, I think our next generations will have a chance to go in different path than only IT coolies. | ||

Felt the same when I watched 1st time. After watching 2nd time I loved the 2nd half as much as I loved the 1st half now. Vamsi perfectly blended commercial elements with the theme in 2nd half. I saw Maharshi today. Mahesh is my favorite hero in this generation, but I am not a blind supporter who defends him no matter what. I didn't like his acting in any of the movies after Nenokkadine except a few scenes in SRM and BAN and hated his one (n probably another half) expression acting in Spyder and thought he was done and will fade out after that movie. Coming to Maharshi - To me, the two parts of the movie (i.e. before and after Naresh re-entry) are at two whole different levels. Before Naresh re-entry - I just LOVED it. It was one of the best pieces of movies I have seen in the last few years. Vamsy P - TAKE A BOW. I personally connected a lot with many scenes and dialogues in the flashback. Concept and writing were just AWESOME Mahesh - YOU'RE JUST PURE GOLD IN ACTING, MAN! After Businessman and Nenokkadine (other than pressmeet scene in BAN), I was really excited with his acting in this movie. He was just at a whole another level and thought only he could do so well in some scenes. My favorite part was the product launch scene after knowing about his father's death. He tries to be confident and professional in his speech on the stage while conveying sadness just through his eyes. It was just incredible. Naresh - He was awesome. Thought even Mahesh looked out of sync at few places, but Naresh was just flawless, gem of an actor. SECOND PART - Overall below avg to avg. Concept wise - Kasepu illu, ooru, agriculture, rice mill, gas pipeline, vaadi matti masanam. 4-5 Koratala movies concepts annee oka half movie lo petti mamuuluga saagadeeyala. Mahesh acting was good, but nothing special as writing was tedious with no continuity in the story. Overall ga I still felt the movie was pretty good and want to watch it one more time. P.S. Mahesh is definitely back in terms of acting and mark my words in saying that another Okkadu level movie is just around the corner. It's just a matter of time and a coherent script in my opinion. |
