it needs a true reformist like Manmohan Singh with free hand.... why is Indian gove still maintaining the following 1) Indian railways 2)APSRTC bla bla bla 100s of goverment organisations ?? with the privatization of all these Indian economy will just triple in 3-4 years..... However, the privatization must include clauses and strict regulation of quality and prices... like, for example, privatization of railways, Apsrtc doesn't mean charge as you wish...but charge based on regulatory mechanism which maintains revises the price half yealy or yearly....thereby the artificail and seasonal demand hike would be averted..... Indians also must come out of the perception that government must do everything for them..... excepting seveal servoces in tribal, north eastren states. all things can be privatized proided, there is a regulatory mechanisam to maintain quality in everything unlike USA, which is free market capitalism, india must be regulated capitalism....not the socialist capitalism like now....
