Open ended movies is a genre by itself. The fun of it is 'eekalu peekatam' and figuring who got the meat!! Andhadhun lo director emi master piece teyyaledhu..he took a simple story and peppered it with twists and turns , and let us guess at each turn. Ultimately he might release directors cut( I don't know if this is common with our Indian film industry) and explain what he thought .. until then keep the intrigue going!! one thing i understood...he got blind after tabu mixed something in the prasad. he fixed his eyes using tabu's eyes.. that's the reason he din't say anything when Radhika says in the end. Based on my theory and SR's answers, I would say I am pretty close to what he intended to show One of the theories I read was that Ayushmann never lost his eyesight in the second half. SR: No, that’s not possible. The other theory is that the rabbit didn’t exist. The fact that there was a rabbit on his walking stick meant he was using it to make up a story. SR: That’s quite possible. PS: But we didn’t want The Usual Suspects end where you are very sure that he conned the policeman. But yes, this theory that he could be making that last bit up is possible. He must have lied to Radhika Apte’s character Sophie about what could have happened. In the events leading up to the climax, when the car blows up with Tabu in it, as a bullet meant for a rabbit hits the windshield and the vehicle overturns as a result, Ayushmann’s character is seen standing by the side of the road. Let’s retrace a bit. In the film, we are introduced to Ayushmann aka Akash as a blind piano player, but 10 minutes in, we find out that he’s not visually impaired at all. In a comic turn of events, he lands up at the scene of the crime, not once, but twice! Tabu, as Simi (or Lady Macbeth, as she’s referred to once), decides to pay him a surprise visit at home and actually poisons and blinds him, starting a cat and mouse game, where Akash wants “compensation†to restore his eyesight via a cornea transplant. An evil doctor and his cronies join the mix and after many machinations, suggest they get rid of her and use her corneas for the transplant. The movie starts with a rabbit trying to literally dodge a bullet in the fields, bumping into a scarecrow and finally landing up on the same highway where the climax takes place. On a Quora thread, a viewer says the half blind rabbit was a metaphor for Ayushmann’s character, which means he could see with one eye. Scene 1: What is life? It depends on the liver. Scene 2: Farmer with a gun looking for the bunny. With hero's words to Apte "lambi kahani hai". This tells us that the scene is from London's story. Scene 3 and 4: Andhadhun title card and director's name Scene 5: Beginning of the movie. It is a beautiful way of editing. He is stunned when she says that you should have taken money and got back your eyes because that is exactly what he did. But he cannot be honest about that crime for obvious reasons. Dexter series lo season 2 lo, Batista or someone says, if it is up to me, I would make this killer a Hero. He is cleaning up Miami now antadu. Tabu's step daughter is his friend remember she has a special inclination towards him as he was the one who tells her that her Dad was very happy the other night, and she also loves to learn piano from Ayushman as the song he played in his funeral is his favorite. If you observe closely, when Tabu kills Doctor we only hear the sound, but camera is panned at Ayushman, he has a slight smirk on his face, he knew that it was Tabu who killed the doc and he tries to get her sympathy by begging Doc to not to kill her or take her eyes, requests him to drop both of them off the road. Tabu has a change of heart and drops him off, but going by how shrewd and evil she is, she comes back to kill him, that's when the accident happens - this can be one possibility another possiblity is, Tabu wasn't killed in the accident, Doctor got killed by the gun shot of the farmer and Ayushman realizing it, drives to the aiprport and boards the flight to dubai and gets what he wants from sheikh, by handing over Tabu to him | ||

right !! So not all .. just the last bit where he narrates to radhika. The part about the rabbit and car accident is another made up story like the cricket ball bit!! Everything else is true. He does really get blind with whatever tabu gives him. The sequence of events after that is him really struggling without sight. Dr. Ambika bit, as you rightly pointed, out confirms it !! The doctor with the donor video shows that his daughter needs liver transplant with a rare group that simi has. And he would give him 1 crore as his share plus cornea transplant. Their last dialogues are Ayushman says 'is ko mar thodi sakte??' Doctor says ' Mar tho jayegi... it is life .. depends on liver ' and they drive past the banyan tree!! I think that is real. He got his share of money and cornea transplanted from her and he goes to London. When radhika meets him in London , he narrates the rabbit story which is the fiction.. may be inspired from his cane rather than cane being made because he got saved When radhika says you should have taken simi's corneas and let her die like the doctor said.... I think he walks away blankly as that is what he has done!! The genius of this movie is the dialogues. They are very well placed !! All thru the movie they show that there is no sinster intent in him pretentding to be blind!! He just got caught in sequence of events like the half blind rabbit | ||

Tabu dropping him is probably true but not turning back. my sequence of events is this - he does have the laddu/doesnt - but he doesnt go blind at that scene. He acts lazy, blind watever .. he knows kid is recording him so Apte is done deal from that point - shes out of plot.. From there on, hes acting as if he is blind.. Tabu could have given him sedate, not poison.. its especially weird the amt of time he keeps searching window etc when he is locked alongside Tabu.. and finally manages to break the glass as well..and all along i do think he was acting blind.. cos from my perspective, his narration is also BSing the viewer.. so overall, he had Tabu,Police,Lotterylady,Auto, Doc.. ive characters. Lady,Autowala are killed without effort.. he includes police in plan, kills Doc & Tabu ( probably with his help ) in a surrounding like Taxi scene ( not exactly the way he narrates to Apte ).. Apte doesnt know hes cured. The story actually ended while the doctor and Ayushman discusses about selling Tabu and sharing the money. He got eyes somehow, which doesn’t matter as long as he has money..... The rest of the story about rabbit and accident are created by Ayushman just for Radhika in usual suspects style quoting objects around. He even giggles when Radhika says why save Tabu, should have sold her and taken money. It’s not open ended. Looks like everyone brainstorming here missed the cane you are assuming he was blind when the accident happened .. if that is true he would have no way of knowing that it was a rabbit that saved him ... The cane that the waitress hands him in the last sequence has a rabbit head carving on the handle ... coincidence? NOT ! So either he recovered his sight before then or never lost his sight (plausible - he is not dumb enough to eat what Tabu gives him knowing what she’s done ) but if he avoided eating how did he know she gave him something to blind and not kill - that’s counterintuitive ...that would need collusion with Manohar or Tabu .... Raghav kurrod thoti naak unna biggest problem is all his characters are -ve.. any character in the movie has a -ve shade because of which too many twists in the story... Thriller genre ki 100% justification chesina, because of so many twists konni konni saarlu chaala chirrakyesthadi... i mean come on... every shot cannot be a twist ane level chiraaku... I didnt see agent vinod and before this but rest 3 movies too many -ve characters and twists... its like whole human race is too selfish, greedy and inhumane (It may be reality but movie la koncham athi anipistadi) | ||
