One of the strategies of big films is to jack up the ticket prices during the initial days of release so that the collections will be good irrespective of the word-of-mouth. Aravinda Sametha is no different but this time around, the ticket price of Rs 200 in B and C Centres did affect the common man and led to footfalls, shorter than expected on Friday. At the same time, the extra ticket price made up for the deficit and contributed to a healthy share of revenues. Meanwhile, a key person of the producers has reportedly called up the distributors and requested them not to reveal the actual revenues but inflate them by 10 to 15 percent. One distributor speaking to greatandhra on condition of anonymity confirmed the same and said, âNormally, we get such requests from fans but this time, we were surprised to see a person from the producersâ side making such a request.â But if they report inflated figures, how will they explain it to the Income âTax department?
