don't prepare anything , just let the kid take the test if he want in 4 th grade , I did in 5th grade , just to see where they are , he got only 58 % in english and did better in Math I know he is week in english form the test , so in future I may put some effort there - | ||

My personal feeling even 7th grade is unnecessary But you let them take on test competitively you will know where they are good or bad If they are very weak in some area - you have an early start to help them That’s the way this is useful | ||

he is in GT and knows about PSAT from his other friends, sagam mandi GT kids in the class are in this program and prepping for test in Jan. He already told us about it but shrugged off when we asked him if he wanted to try the testing. Vaadu vachi adugute we will think but I still think 4th grade is too early for these kind of tests | ||

how will he know if you don't say ? psat in 4 grade may be too advanced for most , it is at 8th grade level test but if the kid is trained with kumon etc , they will do good in 5th and 6th grade - | ||

Thanks for all the input. He is not a straight A student. But GT lo unnadu. Ee STAAR tests lo 98% untadu. Monna oka test lo 80 vachayi. You know all the answers for the mistakes kada... what happened ante, just a test. Antadu. Inka argue cheyyataniki emi undadu. Not competitive at all. We didn’t even know that he is being tested. We are more of a let him find his way and always present him with all the possibilities. most of the indian students will qualify , if you get 5 in English or Math EOG exams , you are qualified . Grades 4/5/6 take PSAT ( normally 8 th and 9 th graders will take it ) You have to join again in 7 th grade , and can take SAT, there will be some summer programs ( you need to pay for those), and some books you can buy and some free articles .. , if the child is gifted , ( not the standard indian kids , they are trained) they will be motivated to browse those gifted child articles .. nothing much for rest - | ||
