Rahul:

what was your diet when u skipped rice? Running on threadmill or outside?

Outside everyday. Run as far as possible can until I get tired. And drag myself back home. Minimum 5 miles a day. Somedays up to 12 miles.
Diet
2 idle with avocado chutney for breakfast
Only curries for lunch.
Only curries for dinner and every other day with a chapathi (if super hungry)
Madyalo akaleste baby carrots or cucumber.
No sodas, no sugar.
Weekend cheat day - one day biryani for dinner.
It was tough but I was determined.

I can concur with "no weight loss with walking but running helps".
I lost 40 pounds by running for a year and skipping rice altogether.
Then I stopped and started eating rice. Gained 10 pounds in a year even though I changed to more vigorous exercises (boot camp).
Could run 8 minute mile at the time. 10 is probably realistic now.

curry preparation:
1) pour coconut oil generously
2) Add diced chicken/mutton/fish ( boneless)
3) Add ginger and garlic paste
4) Add one fennel/onions
5) Add chillies
6) Add cloves , Biriyani aaku, Cordimum, red chilli powder and masala powder
7) Add peppers
8) Add optional carrots / beans
9) Add aspagarus
10) Add optional baby corn
11) Add Tomatoes
12) Add spinach just 10 min before done ( mostly covers salt)

Put very high flame, as cut put into bowl and place lid
Better to cook in thick and heavy cooking bowl
While eating you can add pinch of table salt
Eating with Salad is better if you can

I lost 5 kilo in three months
with the help of good diet ( infact eating more than before) high intensity exercise ( both cardio and weights ) and swimming.

My diet - Normal idly/dosa breakfast
Lunch - Quarter or half chicken with boiled vegetables/salad
Dinner - Indian curries or home made chicken or fish curry
snack - Mostly boiled eggs some cheat snacks

Home made curry : Quarter kilo chicken/fish with aspagarus, peppers, onions, chillies, ginger garlic paste, beans, carrots , baby corn , fennel, tomatoes and spinach- less salt as there is spinach.

4/5 days a week high intensity workout - heavy weights, boxing , 1.6km run in 11 mins, 3.6 kms in 23 mins etc etc

Weekends : Cheat days- Eat anything

Results :
81 kg to 76 kg
Waist 34 to 31
broad chest
25% body fat to 20% body fat

thamud, ee db lo andaru unnadhi max under 45, many under 35

at that age
unless heavy weight it is not a big deal to build a basic runner profile...speed 5 mph...in a few weeks
start with little distances ...walk-jog model

yes, based on my "non doctor" exp. 120 is more than avg. for brisk walk for ppl in mid 30s

you are either carrying lot of load or could have issues from lifestyle (smoking, less sleep etc.)

most ppl have neglected exercise all through their life...exceptional situations pakkana pettu

Just brisk walking for an hour a day

check you heart rate using any devices like fitbit....it should hit 60-80%more of normal rate....you will be good.you see changes from 3rd month and change is going to last more

best option is run once in while..small runs...if your legs are supporting..

I've been trying to reduce my weight for over 2 months. Just brisk walking for an hour a day, lunch changed to Oatmeal+fruits, carbs cut to the root(rare rice eating), no other junk. So far, lost 0 pounds. (of course, I am not stopping though). May be I got rock solid fat in the body. Want to reduce 30 pounds by the end of this year.

brisk walking will not really help bro..start running..that's the only way you can see some changes..everyday i see many potbelly vuncles walking like a tortoise on the trail and they think they have done a great work out..I feel like stopping my run and asking them when is the delivery..

reduce the amount of your diet and start running..you will see the changes fast..
