key idey, once the dependence on rain fed tanks and water from bores is removed the cost of agriculture will come down. Assured water and electricity removes those tensions from the farmer. With crop assistance, seeds, rytu bandu (with all its flaws) will help small farmers who have 1-5 acres of land. Rytu bheema will give some mental peace to the farmer families. Governmental neglect of water sources in telangana has been monumental. Mottam cheruvula meeda irrigation but with their collapse the irrigation was totally affected nagajunasagar/jurala did not do any thing , singur which was for irrigation in medak was diverted to water needs of hyderabad. The state govt has revitalized close to 15-6000 cheruvulu, damned them cleaned canals, constructed check dams to retain water. You cannot believe the work being done in irrigation in TG. corruption choose vallaki corruption kanipistadi pani choosevallaki pani kanipistadi. corruption anedi accepted fact ayinappudu pani jarugunta leda anedi choodali. I have limited knowledge on irrigation .What I know is farmers are only concerned about getting water to their fields and not what it takes to get them there.Even if you give them 2 lakhs er acre every year and ask them to stop agriculture.They will still do Few days back I have asked here, if anyone know a alternate solution to irrigate lands in Telangana ? (and stop suicides/miseries of farmers who depend on rains/bores for irrigating their land) Cos the same people posted tons of posts blaming Govt's inaction, during farmers suicides The wise people in DB suggested that TG farmers should stop doing agriculture (or install drip irrigation ) and find alternative livelihood and let water flow to downstream state farmers | ||

Guys I have been to the project locations - all of them and the presentation by the Electrical Engineer - Raghu K on Irrigation projects is far from truth. His portrayal of where the rivers meet and water availability and his interpretation of the information available is totally geared against showing the present govt has been spending tonnes of money and getting kickbacks etc(towing congress line). There is no truth in water being lifted back from medigadda to tummidihatti. Pranahita meeting point deggara(above tammidihatti) maharashtra 148 level lo no way ani cheppindi so there is no other option if we want a barrage there (which is needed anyway to cultivate the old adilabad district area). BTW tammidihati is not being built on pranahita now but on wardha because the original design was not to built the barrage at 45 deg angle on the river that increased the length of the barrage which made the cost of it around 2500 crores,now with the new design the barrage will be perpendicular on wardha which will reduce the cost to 650 crores. pulihora interpretation - CWC and all central agencies ki idi kooda teliyakunda approvals ichara including green tribunal ? He is not talking about 3000 odd dams that are constructed in Maharashtra - babli daaka vachina neellu kindaki ravali ante it will only come if babli gates are lifted. pranahita kalisina deggara barrage kadite maharashtra oppukodu ani clear ga chepparu, down ki vachina taruvata kadite nobody has any issues. moving from tummidihatti to yellampallis is the only major difference. BTW tummidihatti at 140 level is still used for adilabad. the water availability at tummidihatti is max 150-160 while at kaleshwaram it can be up to 360 TMC - this is the information not quoted correctly by mr Raghu. cost factor aside, certifying ee kadu, i support this project. Raghu's presentation while looks good is not entirely true. The main issue is water availability at the old location - 90 days max ( in a decent year) plus if the dam is built there Maharashtra inundation ki oppukodu. Now with the reduced height of barrage at the old place erstwhile adilabad will still get its share of water required and the bnew structure will be providing water to the other districts.
