Tesla will survive no matter what. If not Musk someone will buy it. I am surprised none of the major manufacturers don’t have a competing model in the next 12 to 24 months. Most of the German cars that are in the similar range (220 to 270 miles) are at least 2 years out. It’s not about beating the technology, that’s the easy part. In the meanwhile they letting the brand Tesla to be built. In this business it’s all about the brand. Once the brand is built and consumer frenzy catches up, even if he still has manufacturing issues someone (like Apple) will buy it. Bottom line Tesla is here to stay. | ||

On the contrary. if they can ever bring it back.. its probably now. until the new law came in, they were looking at 90B In Bush era, there was a tax "holiday" to get US companies to get money back, and if they did on that day the tax was going to be around 5%. it brought in about 350B and most of it went for mergers and stock buy backs... i think thats the reason, the tax is what it is today. Apple if brings back, will probably put it in something like Tesla - as there is a chance to get lower taxes down the lane, if the manufacturing is entirely in the US - which Tesla does | ||

konchem hyperbole unna its a fact Methane emissions are about 16% of the contributor, while C02 from fossil fuel burning is about 3/4th between, not just Meat eating, but dairy too. Methane emissions happen from organic decay as well. if you look at the percentages of JUST Methane emissions - 1) Fossil fuel burning about 30% 2) Cattle - 30% 3) Land fills/Organic matter decay - 15% 4) Crop burning - 15% 5) Rice crops - 10% and the rest in the remaining 5% see now, if meat eating should be curtailed - then what about the other 70%. will Rice eating folks give up rice? also the cattler farming also happens for dairy - so will people give up dairy? as you can see there is no easy answer . | ||

This is not entirely factually accurate - ofcourse evverything impacts environment. Li ion batteries are low impact on the environment, and they are cheap to mine, and tech is very similar to how salt is "mined". Also - li Ion is recyclable and reusable - and based on initial estimates, these batteries should "technically" outlive the car and then recycled. | ||

My issue with TESLA is more about credibility than anything else. 1) TESLA is going to be a heavy cost in the initial 5 to 10 years. Folks who dont understand this are simply making the wrong calculations while evaluating the stock. Folks who are also comparing costs from other auto-industries are better off evaluating the cost models during intial setup of those companies. TESLA will burn cash, will continue burning cash for the next 2 years atleast. 2) TESLA is easily atleast 10 years ahead of the rest of the competitors. Its not just that its a electic vehicle, but the type of technology in the car, and the way upgrades can be pushed to older cars is till not available in even nascent forms from competitors. It has clear advantages. 3) Is TESLA wrongly priced, should have been constlier than what they have right now? quite possibly, but then the pricing right now is possibly the better option to gain market traction and keep them advantageous. The problem is the projecton of sales in my mind. to me the problems lie on the side of the company. I could be more patient for the technical issues to get resolved, but right now have low trust. 1) Issue 1: How can Elon Musk tweet about a company plan mid-day during trading times, and no exchange raise any questions about it? 2) Issue 2: TESLA has released an official notice that they will stay public on Friday evening after trading hours. In the notice they have indicated that a decision was made on Thursday - this shows a clear indication that they waited till investors cannot trade any more for the weak. clearly, Elon's way of releasing "official notice" and the boards are both a problem. 3) The board says, they are completely behind Elon Musk while they are not agreeing to his decision of going private, which seems dishonest. Overall - I would stay away from the stock if you are in for short term, and I would stay away until significant changes happen with the leaders of organization. Very unfortunate, that a company with such potential is not heading with a more stable leadership. | ||
