The expenditure incurred by senior Telugu Desam Party leader and Andhra Pradesh finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu for his dental treatment in a Singapore hospital in April this year has become a big news in the social media and the minister might not have got so much trolling ever before for his “abnormal” claims. Now, more and more interesting news is coming out about the treatment given to Yanamala. Netizens did not stop with trolling but started digging into the background of Azure Dental Hospital at Singapore in which he underwent treatment for the root canal treatment for his teeth. Enquiry about the hospital at the address mentioned in the GO (22 Sixth Avenue, Singapore) revealed that it belongs to one Dr Prashanth Kanakamedala, a Telugu dentist who had done just bachelor degree in dental sciences (BDS). It is a medium size clinic and not even a big hospital in Singapore. And who is Prashanth? He is none other than son of Telugu Desam Party’s newly elected Rajya Sabha member Ravindra Kumar Kanakamedala. He also owns a similar clinic in Hyderabad which charges just Rs 10,000 for the root canal treatment. So, Yanamala has deliberately chosen the Singapore clinic because of his close links with the TDP MP and paid nearly Rs 2.82 lakh for a simple procedure which would have cost only Rs 10,000 in the Hyderabad clinic! Google search about Dr Prashant Kanakamedala says he had graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1998 with a Bachelor's Of Dental Surgery. He has over 19 years of experience in providing dental services to families. It also says Dr Prashant is a father of two young boys, but another search shows he is engaged to a Muslim doctor Dr Sebrina Abdul Malik and is set to marry her on September 21, 2019. Well, it is his internal family matter! In any case, the sanction of Rs 2.82 lakh the amount incurred a lot of criticism on the social media platforms. One of the sarcastic comments read: “Till the homemade Singapore is ready, we will spend in Singapore”, another said, “Singapore is Zinda Tilismath. For capital, for dental” | ||
