Test-check of cheques relating to the month of March, 2017 revealed the following in respect of 416 cheques: • 63 Cheques amounting to 257.89 crore were issued by DDOs as self cheques. • 353 cheques for 1325.88 crore were issued in favour of Branch Managers of various banks. Details of parties, to whom the payments were made, were not enclosed with these cheques, in the absence of which the transaction from PD accounts could not be verified. </quote> There seem to be deviations to the approved policies too. | ||
