Attorney client privilege exists only for certain communications that have elements of jurisprudence established. So in these cases a third party watch dog group will evaluate the documents and shield them from prosecution. Same thing will happen here. Both parties(fbi and cohens legal team) will select a common set of lawyers. In case of stormy Daniels , Cohen said he acted by himself. Trump said he doesn't know about the payment. So anything specific to this doesn't fall under the privilege (in my opinion) Secondly , Cohen has to establish he is a practicing attorney and his contact with Trump is on legal basis: during April this was heavily litigated when they could not name any other client( Hannity fiasco). Bottom line is attorney client privilege exists and will be respected !! Btw, this is a common practice . The party at disadvantage will try to portray as special case but Constitution protects trump as much as it protects anyone!! And even more . As a president he has special immunity in certain cases( I am supporter of Kavanaugh's position on sitting president) | ||
