I have not read the complete report or methodology . Telangana own 'TAX' growth rate for last 3 financial years is 13.7% in 2015-16 21.1% in 2016-17* 16.8% in 2017-18 Average 17.2% (*But CAG previous report says Telangana’s own tax revenue went up to ₹48,408 crore during 2016-17 from ₹38,460 crore in 2015-16 registering a growth of 25.87% http://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/Hyderabad/good-growth-in -tax-revenue-in-state/article19360318.ece ) AP/TG came into existence on June.So 2 months of the previous qtr from April to June may be of United AP.The data may have been separated for both states by CAG depending on the region where the tax collections are from CAG report is not out yet.Once it is out,the data can be analyzed.Cos I think the tax revenues screenshot you posted for TG and AP are not from actual AUDITED CAG reports ,but from state govt's own figures presented in budgets | ||

Telangana collected a total Rs 42,076 crore and recorded 20 per cent growth in revenue collections for 2017-18 as compared to the last financial year. The revenue collections under Value Added Tax (VAT) regime by the Commercial Taxes Department was registered at Rs 34,235 crore for 2016-17. According to officials, liquor sales contributed the highest revenue collections amounting to Rs 10,543 crore, which was closely followed by tax collections of Rs 9,176 crore through sale of petrol, diesel and other fuels. Under VAT and other Acts, the Commercial Taxes Department collected a whopping Rs 9,114 crore. With regard to SGST, the State realised tax revenue of Rs 6,540 crore and income through IGST (Integrated GST) was Rs 6,534 crore even as GST compensation of Rs 169 crore was released by the Centre. | ||

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has said that Telangana State overstated its revenue surplus due to irregular accounting. The CAG Report on State Finances tabled for the year ended March 2017 said that the State registered revenue surplus of ₹ 1,386 crore. The revenue surplus was overstated by ₹ 6,778 crore due to irregular accounting while it had revenue deficit of ₹ 5,392 crore during 2016-17. The government later, in revised estimates for 2016-17, had indicated a revenue surplus of ₹ 199.4 crore but the CAG report now made it clear that the State was not revenue surplus at all. meanwhile same CAG few months back said TS is having revenue deficit also.. | ||

it is not about more revenue It 'Percentage of increase" over YoY . Increase may be due to many factors.May be they collected defaulted taxes from previous years or brought more businesses,products,services int taxnet Tax growth does not mean anything much unless there is a substantial GDP growth | ||

It has to do revenue growth YoY For eg:If last year the revenue was Rs 100 ,and if this year it is Rs 115 .It translates to 15% growth Also means govt has imposed taxes on more items,or may have increased tax rates or may be taxes are collected more effectively without sparing defaulters | ||

హైదరాబాద్: గత నాలుగేళ్లలో రాష్ట్ర ఆదాయ వృద్ధి రేటు దేశంలోనే తొలిస్థానంలో ఉందని కాగ్ చేసిన ప్రకటనపై తెలంగాణ సీఎం కేసీఆర్ హర్షం వ్యక్తంచేశారు. 2014 జూన్ నుంచి 2018 మే వరకు దేశంలోని ఆయా రాష్ట్రాల ఆదాయ వృద్ధి రేట్లను కాగ్ వెల్లడించింది. ఈ సందర్భంగా సీఎం మాట్లాడుతూ.. 17.2 శాతం వృద్ధిరేటుతో తెలంగాణ ఆదాయం అగ్రగామిగా ఉంటే మిగతా రాష్ట్రాల ఆదాయం వృద్ధిరేటు 10శాతం లోపేనన్నారు. ఆర్థిక క్రమశిక్షణ, పన్నుల చెల్లింపులో ప్రజల చిత్తశుద్ధి వల్లే ఇది సాధ్యమైందన్నారు. నోట్ల రద్దు , జీఎస్టీ వంటి నిర్ణయాల తర్వాత కూడా స్థిరమైన వృద్ధి సాధించామని చెప్పారు. ఆదాయ వృద్ధితో అభివృద్ధి, సంక్షేమ కార్యక్రమాలు మరిన్ని అమలు చేయవచ్చని అన్నారు.ఆదాయ వృద్ధి రేటులో తొలి ఐదు రాష్ట్రాలు ఇవే..దేశవ్యాప్తంగా వివిధ రాష్ట్రాల ఆదాయ వృద్ధి రేట్ల వివరాలను కాగ్ వెల్లడించింది. ఆయా రాష్ట్రాలకు సొంత పన్నుల ద్వారా వచ్చే ఆదాయం ప్రతి ఏడాది నమోదైన ఆదాయ వృద్ధిని వెబ్సైట్లో కాగ్ పొందుపరిచింది. దీని ప్రకారం 2014 జూన్ నుంచి 2018 మే వరకు ఆయా రాష్ట్రాల ఆదాయ వృద్ధి రేట్లను ప్రకటించారు. గత నాలుగేళ్ల కాలంలో తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రం17.2 శాతం వృద్ధి రేటు సాధించి దేశంలోనే తొలి స్థానంలో నిలిచినట్టు కాగ్ ప్రకటించింది. 14.2 శాతంతో హరియాణా రెండో స్థానంలో ఉండగా.. మహారాష్ట్ర మూడు, ఒడిశా నాలుగో స్థానంలో, పశ్చిమ్బంగ ఐదో స్థానంలో నిలిచినట్టు వివరించింది. ఈ ఐదు రాష్ట్రాలు మాత్రమే 10 శాతానికి పైగా వృద్ధి రేటును నమోదు చేశాయని పేర్కొంది. దేశంలోని మిగతా రాష్ట్రాల్లో వృద్ధిరేటు తక్కువగా నమోదైనట్టు కాగ్ తెలిపింది. తెలంగాణలో 2015-16 ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరంలో 13.7 శాతం వృద్ధిరేటు సాధించగా.. 2016-17లో 21.1 వృద్ధిరేటు నమోదైంది. 2017-18లో 16.8శాతం వృద్ధిరేటు లభించింది. ఈ నాలుగేళ్లలో సగటున 17.2 వృద్ధిరేటుతో రాష్ట్రం ముందంజలో నిలిచింది. | ||
