not always. sometimes Visit visa is given only for Six month (my own case). Eventually one has to take OCI. Summer time lo it takes 3/4 months otherwise one will get in 6 to 8 weeks. You can Renunciate the passport later (Once OCI is confirmed and when you send US passport, can send the Indian Passport with fees that time). Anything I said earlier is inadmissible in an argument.
